Yaz and Yasmin Birth Control Lawsuits
A Yaz and Yasmin birth control lawsuit may be appropriate for someone who has suffered from a serious injury such as a blood clot, gallbladder disease, heart attack or stroke while taking Yasmin or Yaz birth control. The birth control pills are fourth generation oral contraceptives that have been linked to several serious injuries and deaths.
To date, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has received more than 50 reported deaths that have been linked to either Yaz or Yasmin. Although Yaz and Yasmin are not exactly the same, they both contain drospirenone, an ingredient that has been linked to an increase in users’ potassium levels, which can lead to the development of blood clots.

About a thousand lawsuits have already been filed in courts against Bayer, claiming that the fourth generation birth control pills have led to serious injuries. Plaintiffs have claimed injuries that include:

- Kidney stones
- Heart attack

- Pulmonary embolism
The lawsuits also claim that Bayer fraudulently concealed safety information from consumers.
