Michael G. Nast’s practice emphasized antitrust and complex civil litigation.
Education
Michael G. Nast was a 1992 cum laude graduate of Cornell Law School. At Cornell Law School, he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Insurance Law. He was a magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Cornell University, where he was in the history honors program.
Career Milestones
Before entering private practice, Mr. Nast served as a Deputy Attorney General for Pennsylvania and as an assistant district attorney. He also served as law clerk to the late President Judge D. Richard Eckman of the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Nast also served as an instructor for the Pennsylvania State Police in search and seizure. He tried over 75 cases to verdict, including over 50 jury trials. In 2003, he was named as one of the top lawyers in Pennsylvania under the age of 40.
Professional Affiliations
Mr. Nast was the Vice President of the Lancaster Bar Association and a member of the Board of Editors for the Lancaster Law Review. He authored the Civil Jury Verdict Reporter. He wrote "Does Daubert Apply to Class Certification Motions?" which appeared in the January 2003 edition of the American Bar Association Class Action Newsletter. He was also the author of "Medical Device Preemption: A Plaintiff’s Perspective," which is scheduled for publication in the Widener Law Journal. Mr. Nast was a member of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust, Trial, Tort and Insurance Practice, and Litigation Sections; the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association; the Pennsylvania Bar Association; and the Lancaster Bar Association.
